FAQ
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card built into your device. Instead of inserting a physical SIM card, you install a data plan electronically by scanning a QR code. It works exactly like a regular SIM once activated — giving you mobile data in your destination country.
Is my phone eSIM-compatible?
Most phones released from 2018 onwards support eSIM, including iPhone XS and later, Samsung Galaxy S20 and later, and Google Pixel 3 and later. Check our full Device Compatibility page to confirm your exact model, and make sure your device is network-unlocked.
How do I install my eSIM?
After purchase, you'll receive a QR code and activation instructions by email. Full step-by-step instructions for iPhone and Android are on our Installation Guide page. It takes about 2–3 minutes.
When should I install my eSIM?
You can install it any time after purchase — even before you travel. We recommend installing it while still on Wi-Fi, ideally before your trip, so everything is ready when you land. Your data validity period only starts once the eSIM connects to a network in your destination, not from the moment of installation.
Can I keep my regular SIM and use the eSIM at the same time?
Yes. Most modern phones support Dual SIM, meaning you can keep your home SIM active for calls and texts while using the eSIM purely for data. Just make sure your eSIM is selected as the active data line in your settings.
Will I be able to make calls or send texts?
Our eSIM plans are data-only. For calls and texts, you can use your regular SIM (if dual SIM), or use internet-based calling apps like WhatsApp, FaceTime, or Skype over the eSIM's data connection.
What happens when my data runs out?
Once your data allowance or validity period ends, the eSIM will stop providing connectivity. You can simply purchase a new plan from us at any time — no need to reinstall anything if you're topping up the same destination (where supported), or you can install a fresh eSIM for a different destination.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are available only if your eSIM has not yet been installed or activated, within 7 days of purchase. Full details are on our Refund Policy page.
What if my QR code doesn't scan?
Make sure you're scanning it from a different screen than the device you're installing it on (e.g. a printout, email on another device, or a second screen). If it still doesn't work, use the manual entry option in your phone's eSIM settings, or contact us for help.
Does the eSIM work in multiple countries?
That depends on the plan. Single-country eSIMs only work in that specific country. If you're visiting multiple countries, check out our Regional Plans or Global Plans, which cover many countries on one eSIM.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. All payments are processed securely through Shopify Payments, and we never store your card details directly.
